- S: The film, as most kid's films do, has some serious sensibility flaws. Of particular note is the irregular invincibility of the robots and the ever-changing nature of nature.
- C: Best part of the film without question are the visuals. Many shots throughout the film are a feast for the eyes.
- E: Fun watch, elevated by great visuals and music. Lulls a bit in the middle due to a kind of double narrative taking place.
- N: The film has two stories working concurrently; a story about nature adapting and a story about a robot finding purpose. There are moments where the film can't seem to decide which story to focus on
and the two often don't quite fit. This forces the main character to make pretty large leaps in character development to fit the quick jumps in narrative. This also means that major characters have to be introduced
at odd intervals during the film to fit the switching narratives.
- T: The film received two bonus points: one for the robot's learning sequence to understand the animals and one for great visuals with particularly water.
Definitely a great animated family movie, but it feels like its trying to do too many things. Very creative visually and artistically.
