- Sensibility: On top of the usual long-shot survivals in superhero films, this film adds a layer of narrative nonsense that is too bothersome to ignore. Superman's strength and injuries are terribly inconsistent, his morality is naively flux, the villian's choices are ill-timed, and the introduction of the multi-verse/portals create issues that are completely swept under the rug.
- Cinematography: Some poor CGI and bad lighting choices make for a disappointing film visually. Also, costuming is a bit lackluster, particularly in reference to the cornucopia of superhero films released every year. Some solid camera work is weaved in however amongst the issues.
- Energy: Unfortunately, the first feeling upon exiting the movie was boredom. The fight scenes feel cheapened by shoddy CGI and odd character choices and the dramatic portions are let-down by thinly composed characters and
lackluster writing.
- Narrative: The film is a hodge-podge of ideas, none of which are fleshed out enough to be interesting. The romance element is weak and simple, the political references are transparent, and the family focus is
too intermittent to feel important. Strangest of all is, in hindsight, the film feels more about the heroics of the Green Lantern and the Justice Gang.
- T-Points: The film received one bonus point for a fight sequence with a rotating shot around Lois Lane inside of a protective bubble.
Honestly, very disappointing. The story is far too spread out to make anything worthwhile and the remaining parts of the film aren't worth sitting around for.
