- S: Was very sensible up until the last 30 minutes where it becomes exceedingly hard to determine what is real and what is symbolic.
- C: Excellent nature shots, but excessive use of dolly zoom. Great set design and costuming as well.
- E: Great watch, particularly due to the excellent performances of the two kids Percy Dags IV and Anthony B. Jenkins.
- N: The story starts out great, chalking up most of the mysticism and fanaticism of the reality to mental illness, but then takes a turn and struggles a bit in communicating if
the evil forces in the film are real or metaphorical.
- T: The film received one bonus point for a scene with a dog in a greenhouse.
Honestly surprised this film isn't getting more buzz. Halle Berry was great, but the kids shine. The film has great religious nuance and portrays the mother-son relationship
with excellence. I think if the story had gone a more clear route near the end, either obviously metaphorical
or obviously literal then this film would have been much improved.
