- S: The film is fairly sensible, particularly given its far-reaching and outlandish concepts. However, Mickey's behavior is supposedly different between the mickeys
but the only one to embody any differences is Mickey 18.
- C: The sets are great, costuming is great, but the choreography of scenes is often quite awkward. In particular, some fight scenes and action sequences feel very clunky.
- E: It's a fun watch for the most part, but the unnecessary plot points and noise create distractions.
- N: The basic expendables concept is brilliant. However, the story as a whole is a mess. It is full of diligence over details that end up being unimportant and irrelevant, the side-romance
aspect is too brief to matter in the film, and the back and forth in time with Mickey's experience doesn't quite work, especially in it's attempt to portray Nasha's love for Mickey.
The plot and its subtleties are over-explained to the point that the film feels cumbersome to watch and leaves no room for the viewer to reach their own conclusions about the planet,
the alien life, and the expendables concept.
- T: The film received one bonus point for the printer concept and execution.
This film is a miss from Bong Joon Ho. It lacks the thematic substance of most of his other films and has a story that has too many mistakes. It's a fun watch, but not much more.
Also, a rather un-subtle parody of a famous celebrity that is present throughout in Mark Ruffalo's performance doesn't really hit with the intended effect given the current political climate.
