- Sensibility: This movie is maybe too sensible. There is too little narrative content to make things hard to believe. Only issue that stands out is a scene with reporters that feels very out of place.
- Cinematography: Nothing noteable other than some hair/makeup, particularly with Johnny Depp's character.
- Energy: Pretty dull throughout. There isn't enough insight into the criminal world, it's mostly just narrated about/hinted about and not shown.
- Narrative: Perhaps too much truth in the film has made it boring. This is why stories are "based on" and not exact re-tellings.
- T-Points: The film received one bonus point for a particularly good scene between Johnny Depp and Julianne Nicholson.
The film moves slowly and doesn't go into enough detail to make any of the characters feel meaningful. We know where the story is headed the whole time, but there isn't
enough emotional content presented to the viewer to raise the stakes.
