- Sensibility: An old man's survival in a cave, a miraculous survival from a car accident and a great fall, and a very forgiving gunshot victim on top of an already wild premise makes for some tricky suspension of disbelief at moments.
- Cinematography: The camera work is unbelievably effective at creating tension even when there's no horror elements involved. Other than a somewhat shoddy transition out of a murder to a car on a highway that feels like an ad-break and some curious choices with sound-design the film is visually excellent with awesome production design and lighting.
- Energy: Suspenseful and horrifying throughout. However, the first half and the second half are almost two separate films with very different energies. The ending gets so extreme that the horror almost turns comedic, whereas the horror in the first half feels very real and terrifying.
- Narrative: It's a shame the background wasn't more explored, because the premise is so strong and the set-up is almost more interesting than the ending. Story feels scary real and reminded me of the unfortunately true story of the Fritzl case. The characters are solid throughout except for the main, horrifying attraction which is too simple to be interesting by the end.
- T-Points: The film received two bonus points for a dungeon and a terrifying narrative background.
Solid horror film, but I'm not a huge fan of the horror-turned slap-stick style, as I think it demeans the film in hindsight and hurts re-watchability.
